EU exchanges

Erasmus and EU exchange students

At Edinburgh Napier University we have links with institutions all over Europe, and are proud to welcome over 2,000 EU students to Edinburgh every year.

Our European students either come to us as:

  • full-time students who receive a degree at the end of their studies (for more information on this option please contact us),
  • single-trimester or full-year student with the Erasmus Programme, or
  • single-trimester fee-paying students.

If we do not have an Erasmus agreement with your home institution please don't worry - we would still like to welcome you as a single-trimester student, where you can pay per module you study with us rather than signing up to a full degree.

How to apply

Please complete an   Application Form and send it to studyabroad@napier.ac.uk. This should include a transcript from your own university showing your most recent results. They should also send a letter in support of your application, confirming your ability to study at an English-speaking university and that they are happy for you to spend time studying with us in Edinburgh.

If you would like a printed application form, please contact us on studyabroad@napier.ac.uk.

The deadline for students applying to study for our second trimester only (which starts on 14 January 2013) is 15 October 2012. See the University Calendar for other key trimester dates.

Fees

Full-time students study three modules per trimester. The fee in 2012/13 is £305 per undergraduate module and between £570 and £855 per postgraduate module. Each module equates to 10 ECTS credits or 20 Edinburgh Napier credits. This fee may increase for 2013/14 and will be confirmed later in the year.

What’s next?

Your application will be received by our Student & Academic Services department. Please be patient while waiting for a response as this can take between three and six weeks. If you would like to enquire about the status of your application please email us on studyabroad@napier.ac.uk.

Once you have accepted an offer to join us as an Edinburgh Napier University student, we will send you a pack which includes information about life as a student, our welcome and induction events for new students and an application pack to apply for University-owned accommodation if you wish. University accommodation is unfortunately not available for students coming to study for only one trimester. Find out more about locating accommodation, including a list of suggested letting agencies and websites.
